Bahia, Brazilian state at the northeast of the country, whose capital Salvador de Bahia, still retains the colonial flavor. In the district of Pelourinho many churches, cobbled streets, palaces and houses painted in pastel colors remind us of the old splendor of which was the first capital of Brazil. Certainly the neighborhood could be better preserved, be cleaner and be more secure .. but it is what you get!
Narrow streets, ups and downs, many souvenir vendors on the street, little beggars, vagrants enough, some daring tourists, many shops and bars. Recommended the church of San Francisco, for its spectacular coffered ceiling covered with gold, the sculptures of saints, the Portuguese tiles from the cloister, and overall architecture. It is also advisable to have a reliable person to visit the neighborhood and not go alone through the streets.
