Y volamos a Los Angeles pasando por Dallas con American Airlines donde todas las azafatas de vuelo podrían ser mi abuela, por la edad y por lo simpáticas. Los Angeles es una ciudad tumbada, enorme, y solo tiene rascacielos en el downtown, donde se encuentra nuestro hotel, Westin Bonaventura en Figueroa St. Aqui no puedes ir prácticamente a ningún lado sin coche, pero aún así la primera tarde fui a pasear por downtown, donde pude comprar algo en los almacenes Macy's y cenar en un restaurante italiano bastante bueno. Arriba el hotel y al lado la vista desde mi habitación en la planta 24.

Y desde luego vale la pena visitar Beverly Hills, con sus lujosas casas, calles y tiendas, en especial en Rodeo Drive. Recomendación de restaurante: Steakhouse Mastro's en Canon Drive St., donde sirven una carne excelente, hay música en vivo, mucho ambiente y donde te puedes encontrar cualquier artista. Los Angeles está junto al Océano Pacífico y todo el litoral es un seguido de playas famosas. Por ejemplo Venice Beach, donde destaca su ambiente bohemio y la práctica del surf. Pero nosotros fuimos a Santa Mónica, una zona preciosa de playa, con su famoso pier, paseos y restaurantes de marisco y pescado.
Y para terminar una recomendación de restaurante en Santa Mónica: The Lobster, excelente langosta a la plancha, buena vista sobre la playa y servicio excelente como en todas partes en este país, la verdad.
